Kaur Alia Ahmed is an artist living in Brooklyn, NY. There is so much more that they want to make. Amorphous and fragile materials, lines that collapse into themselves, images that keep moving, surreal foods.

Their work has been shown with Entrance Gallery, Interstate Projects, Rhizome, the Poetry Project, BOMB Magazine, and their manuscript is forthcoming with Wendy’s Subway.

Halo Kaya Perez-Gallardo is the chef-owner and creative director of Lil Deb’s Oasis in Hudson, New York. Raised in Queens by three Ecuadorian women who kept a busy kitchen and instilled in them a curiosity and passion for food, Halo began their career by founding the pie company Saborines, named after their grandmother, in middle school. After receiving a degree in Studio Art with a focus on installation and performance, plus a brief toe-dip into the Art World, Halo found their way back to cooking in kitchens in the Hudson Valley. In 2016 they co-founded Lil Deb’s Oasis, and have steered the James Beard nominated restaurant into being a bastion for queer community and beauty. They co-wrote the cookbook Please Wait To Be Tasted, published by Princeton Architectural Press in 2022, which was nominated for a James Beard award. Halo is driven by the joy of collaboration, and aims for their food and restaurant to match the vibrancy of the life they seek to live.

Kate Williams is a multimedia artist. Her work centers around movement improvisation and choreography as well as designing clothing. She started her process of “dance” in college, where she began her focus into narrative dialogues based on personal experiences. She is a self-taught sewer, and has been making her own clothing since high school. Kate’s current work merges these two practices at the center of expression—using clothing and wardrobe she creates sculptural elements in her movement work. Kate has shown her work at various venues and locations in New York City, including Performance Space NY, Center for Performance Research, and Chaos Computer. She is currently making new performance work with her collaborator, Reed Rushes under their duo name ‘Star & Stan’. As a performer she has collaborated with a number of New York City based artists and has been in shows that have toured internationally.

In addition Kate is part of the Otion Front Studio management team in Bushwick, Brooklyn. She also works as a freelance seamstress and tailor - on private commissions, art projects, and film. She attended Bard College (May 2020) where she was a joint major of Dance and Human Rights with a concentration in Gender and Sexuality Studies.

Kristin Meyer’s work has spanned documentary production for feature length films, shorts and multi media installations & arts writing. She has produced theater for dir. David Levine with residencies at Watermill Center & Mass MoCa, productions at PS122 and FIAF. With family roots in mid-coast Maine, she was based in NYC until that fateful year 2020 at which point she pulled up shop and retreated to Lincolnville with her sister, brother in law and 2 young nieces. During lockdown, by necessity, Kristin turned the barn into a makeshift dance studio and beamed in dance classes & performance allies. She reconnected to the vitality of sharing movement and collective performance spaces as a way out of isolation. She’s long wanted to use the barn and this property as a gathering space for performance and a place to share expansive ways of being through felt experience. She’s grateful to Monica and Colin for visioning that forward.
