Kristin Meyer’s work has spanned documentary production, multimedia installation, arts writing, and theater, including productions with director David Levine at Watermill Center, Mass MoCA, PS122, and FIAF. Based in New York and Maine, she spent the pandemic winter dancing alone in the barn in Lincolnville, hauling firewood in a wheelbarrow and moving in whatever heat she could generate. In solitude she joked she had found a "Barn of One's Own" yet longed to gather people through movement and performance. Rooted in feminist lineage, she's interested in what we do with what we inherit — structures, places, orientations — and how embodied practice can open those inheritances toward new possibilities. She believes that through moving and making together we're able to find softer ways of relating and perhaps come to know, together. It brings her great joy to see the This Is A Performance School community grow.
